I am a designer, futurist, and educator. Although one can trace thematic and methodic dependencies in my concerns, my design practice is diverse, peculiar, and playful, often addressing multiple socio-political trends and issues within the frameworks of Futures Studies and Speculative Design. My work ranges from radical design fiction schemes and critical science fiction stories to more practical, yet innovative urban and business proposals.
I am currently a PhD researcher at Lancaster University (Since 2025). I have a master of architecture in situated technologies from SUNY Buffalo (2016), kickstarting the more serious side of my career at the intersection of design, futures, and technology. During my higher education, I was allowed to experiment with the possible future paths, which lets me become the unique person I am today. After my graduation, I worked part-time as Researcher at Tehran Urban Innovation Center (2017), as Research and Development Manager at Nextoffice (2018), and as Futurist and Storyteller at Future City Innovation Lab (2019-2020). By holding over 20 workshops and tutoring multiple design courses and studios since 2016, I maintained my presence in design education spheres in my hometown of Tehran, Iran. After 9 years of departure from academia, I decided to continue my journey as a PhD researcher at Lancaster University’s renowned Imagination lab.
In 2018, I became an associate member of the World Futures Studies Federation. I was also the chapter leader of Speculative Futures Tehran , the Tehran chapter of Design Futures Initiative (2019-2025). I participated in multiple volunteer initiatives, where I utilized my expertise to foster the true needs of local populations beyond common corporate greed and governmental flaunt.
